Al-Din Theater for Culture and Art has announced the upcoming Al-Din International Festival, set to take place from the 22nd to the 31st of October 2023, at the Oman Automobile Association. This edition of the festival, themed “Gathering the World in Oman,” will feature Adult Theatre, Children’s Theatre, and Street Theatre performances. Moreover, the festival promises to draw a host of international artists, specialists, and playwrights from the Arab region and beyond.

Beyond its artistic and cultural significance, Al-Din International Festival is dedicated to positioning the Sultanate of Oman as a hub for tourism, culture, art, and history. It seeks to cultivate a society characterized by creativity, innovation, and global competitiveness. The festival offers a unique platform for dialogue and cultural exchange and aims to solidify Oman’s reputation as a vibrant center for cultural tourism, introducing global audiences to the nuances of Omani art and the proficiency of Omani performers.

Mohammad Al-Nabhani, chairman of Al-Din Theater for Culture and Art and chairman of the festival’s organizing committee, emphasized the festival’s pivotal role in enriching cultural tourism in the Sultanate of Oman. He highlighted its significant mandate to draw revered artistic figures from around the world, positioning Oman as a nexus of culture, civilization, and tourism, with art and theatre serving as universal languages.

Al-Nabhani remarked, “It’s a profound honor to showcase such a diverse and rich cultural and artistic tableau in the Sultanate of Oman. This festival not only stands as a milestone for Omani theatre but also extols our shared human essence through the medium of the arts.”

Notably, Al-Din Arab Festival in 2018 saw participation from over 100 performances and welcomed 130 guests and contributors from the Arab world. It boasted an impressive attendance of more than 17,000 individuals and garnered extensive media coverage from about 15 local and Arab radio and television channels. There will also be an upcoming press conference to officially announce this international festival — a monumental theatrical event aimed at fostering cultural collaboration and fortifying artistic connections.
